In 2015, a PCV posted a project on the Peace Corps Partnership Program (PCPP) platform to address this vacuum in the village of Yelbouga. His proposal, developed in collaboration with the principal of Yelbouga’s middle school, created a library resource center. FBF’s support enabled the school to purchase three computers, a printer, and a solar-powered electricity system needed to power the electronic equipment and lighting for the students to use for after-hour studying in the library.</p></div> Mon, 13 Apr 2015 14:48:40 +0000 fbf 22 at https://www.friendsofburkinafaso.org Village Pharmacy https://www.friendsofburkinafaso.org/index.php/projects/village-pharmacy <span class="field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden">Village Pharmacy</span> <span class="field field--name-uid field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden"><span>fbf</span></span> <span class="field field--name-created field--type-created field--label-hidden"><time datetime="2013-04-13T10:50:32-04:00" title="Saturday, April 13, 2013 - 10:50" class="datetime">Sat, 04/13/2013 - 10:50</time> </span> <div class="field field--name-field-tags field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field__items"> <a href="/index.php/tags/2013" hreflang="en">2013</a>, <a href="/index.php/tags/peace-corps" hreflang="en">Peace Corps</a>, <a href="/index.php/tags/yelbouga" hreflang="en">Yelbouga</a>, <a href="/index.php/tags/health" hreflang="en">health</a> </div> <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>Community leaders in Yelbouga requested assistance from a PCV to help build a pharmacy adjacent to the local health clinic.  The volunteer sought and received funding from FBF to purchase material needed for construction. The pharmacy opened in 2013. It now provides an accessible source of medication (e.g., ibuprofen, penicillin, malaria prophylaxis, etc.) to local residents and adjacent villages.</p></div> Sat, 13 Apr 2013 14:50:32 +0000 fbf 23 at https://www.friendsofburkinafaso.org
