Properly designed and constructed in appropriate locations, RWCBs tap into the existing water aquifer and raise the groundwater table. Basins provide villagers water every day of the year, even in the dry torrid conditions of the Sahel. They also provide opportunities to increase agricultural production, improve villagers' health, and create local employment. In 2014-16, FBF resources helped finance the construction and repair of rainwater catchment basins in the villages of Sisene and Kamsi.</p></div> Wed, 13 Apr 2016 14:31:54 +0000 fbf 15 at https://www.friendsofburkinafaso.org Water Pump at Primary School https://www.friendsofburkinafaso.org/projects/water-pump-at-primary-school <span class="field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden">Water Pump at Primary School</span> <span class="field field--name-uid field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden"><span>fbf</span></span> <span class="field field--name-created field--type-created field--label-hidden"><time datetime="2009-04-13T10:55:03-04:00" title="Monday, April 13, 2009 - 10:55" class="datetime">Mon, 04/13/2009 - 10:55</time> </span> <div class="field field--name-field-tags field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field__items"> <a href="/tags/2009" hreflang="en">2009</a>, <a href="/tags/koukouldi" hreflang="en">Koukouldi</a>, <a href="/tags/peace-corps" hreflang="en">Peace Corps</a>, <a href="/tags/primary-school" hreflang="en">primary school</a>, <a href="/tags/water" hreflang="en">water</a> </div> <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>The community of Koukouldi acquired a deep bore well at the local primary school, thanks to PCV activism and FBF financial support in 2009.
